Projects - Web Based Experience
If a user starts a project involving someone outside their
account, the participant that hasn't installed the
PortalsXpress application will be sent an email requesting
that they click on a link and login.
Once the login is complete the inbox, tasks, related
documents and their profile will be displayed. The web based
interface or Private Client Site allows any member of a
PortalsXpress account to remotely manage documents or complete
assigned tasks.
Inbox
Once the outside user clicks on the link in the email and
logs in to the PortalsXpress website, they will be directed to
the Inbox. Their tasks will be listed there. They will be
able to see the task description, who the task is from, what
project it relates to, their name as contact as well as any
related items that they may need to be able to work on the
task.
The outside user will double-click on the task to see the
detail of the project.
The outside user can either access the related items by
putting the mouse over the document and doing a right mouse
click or by clicking on edit item or view item when they are
in the details screen. If they use the right mouse click,
they will need to save the document to their hard drive. If
they click on "Edit Item" in the project details, they will
be asked to check out the document. When the outside user
checks out the document, they will be asked to save the item
to their hard drive. They will need to check in the document
after they have made their changes.
Documents
The documents tab will list all documents to which the
outside user has access.
Profile
The outside user can access their contact information through
the Profile tab. They can change their information and submit
the changes by using the form.
Logout
To logout of the session, the outside user just needs to
click on the logout tab.
