Task Scheduler - Overview of Tasks
General information
A task is one piece or item of work that must be completed as
part of a workflow project. For example, one task of an
employee attendance calendar workflow project is for the
employee to electronically submit the completed attendance
calendar form to the employee's manager.
Task detail information
When working with tasks, the following information should be
considered:
- task name
- task due date
- task priority
- task status
- task assignment
- number of hours associated with the task
The role of tasks in WorkflowManager
WorkflowManager can be broken into three main pieces, working
with tasks, working with projects, and creating project
templates. Tasks are common to all three areas.
The level at which a member of your workforce is involved
with tasks is determined by the individual's level in the
workforce (job description) and by the padlock permissions
established by your Administrator.
Keep in mind that each task of a project consumes resources,
and typically only the Manager of the project or the project
Originator has permission to add a new task. However, padlock
permissions can be established to meet your individual
needs.
Display of estimated hours for tasks
The Status bar provides a convenient display of the total
number of estimated hours for a group of tasks. By selecting
a group of tasks on the digital Inbox, an individual can
quickly see the total number of estimated hours have been
assigned. Try sorting the task list by due date to view the
number of estimated hours per a specific date, or sorting by
priority to view the number of estimated hours for a specific
priority.
