Using WorkflowManager - Difference Between Time Sheet and Time Slip
The main difference between the Time Slip screen and
the Time Sheet is how you access the screens.
Both screens allow you to track the time spent on a task or
project information but from a different place and time in
the workflow process.
To access the Time Slip screen, you must be in a screen that
is associated with the task or project and select the
specific task or project and click on the "Time Slip" toolbar
icon. For example, the Inbox screen for a task or the Start
Projects screen for a project.
To access the Time Sheet screen you can be in any screen of
WorkflowManager and select "Time Sheet" from the pull-down
WorkflowManager menu.
For a general rule of thumb, think of the Time Slip
screen as the place to enter time spent information at the
time you complete the work, and the Time Sheet screen as the
place to input time spent information at a later time.
For example, if you prefer to enter time spent information at
the time you complete the work on a task, you will most
likely choose to use the Time Slip screen. If you prefer to
enter time spent information at the end of the day or week,
you will most likely choose to use the Time Sheet screen.
Another difference is the information that can be
viewed in the screens. The Time Slip screen can be used to
view a list of all of your time spent entries for a specific
task while the Time Sheet screen can be used to view a list
of all of your time spent entries for a specific date.
For your convenience, the Time Slip and the Time Sheet
screens both lead you to the Record Time Spent screen for
your time data input.
