Selecting a contact as an action in the Action
Selector screen.
Click to make the "Select Contact" tab the active tab.
The Select Contact tab displays the digital file for your
specific project or template. By default, the Contacts folder
automatically includes a Manager folder, an Originator
folder, and a Primary folder. This list also includes any
additional folders and contacts that have been established in
the Related Items/Padlocks screen. The Related Contacts
topic provides details on establishing contacts.
To establish a select contact action:
- Schedule when the action is to be performed. We suggest
using a "double-click" for contact selection.
- Click to select the appropriate contact (folder) in the
digital file tree control list (left pane).
- Click the OK button
Establishing a task with an action to "select contact" acts
to remind the individual to whom the task is assigned in the
active project to select the specified contact.
WorkflowManager automatically tracks the manager of each
project based upon the workforce information in
ResourceManager and tracks the project originator based upon
the computer log-in settings. If the Primary or any other
related Contact is established as the contact in the task
action then the project's task will automatically display a
Select Contact list from which to make the selection when the
project is run.
A task that has an action to select a contact automatically
closes when the contact selection is complete.
