- From the Departments tree control list in the left pane
of the screen, select the specific department for the
project.

screen is displayed.

Advanced
A project can be started in the following ways:
- manually from scratch
- manually from a project template
- automatically from a project template as an action of
another project
- automatically from a project template as an action of a
task of another project
To manually start a project follow these basic steps:
- Access the Projects screen (tab).
- From the Departments tree control list in the left pane
of the screen, select the specific department for the
project.
- Click the "Start Project" button. The Start Project
screen is displayed.
- Make sure the combo box in the upper-right corner of
the Start Project screen is set to "Advanced".
- The left pane of the screen defaults to your previous
choice of department and the first template for that
department. Verify your selection before starting a
project. Existing project templates that are available for
use in the specific department are displayed in the Project
Template tree control list.
- If starting a project from a project template, select
the desired project template from the second pull-down
menu. The template details are displayed in the right pane
of the screen. If necessary, make modifications to the
template at this time (prior to clicking the OK
button).
- If starting a project from scratch (not using a
template), enter the project details on the right pane of
the screen.
- Click the OK button to start the project.
- The Projects screen
is displayed and includes the new project. All tasks that
are associated with the project are included on either the
Inbox or Group Inbox, as determined by task
assignment.
To have a project automatically started by an "action" of
another project or task of another project do the
following:
- While in the Action Scheduler of the current project,
click on the "New" button.
- The Action Selector screen is displayed.
- Click on the "Start Project" tab.
- Schedule when the "Start Project" action is to be
performed
- If desired, click to make the new project a sub-project
of the current project. The current project and the new
sub-project will have a parent-child relationship.
- Select the specific department or group from the first
pull down menu in the left pane, then select the desired
project template from the pull-down menu directly
underneath the first pull-down menu.
- Make the appropriate primary contact selection.
- Click the OK button to return to the Action
Selector.
