Security - Copying Encryption Keys
Once the Administrator has created the Original Encryption
Key, he or she must make copies for all individuals in the
office. Each individual in the WorkflowCentre Account must
have an Encryption Key in order to open, view and edit
documents stored in any contact's digital file.
To copy the Original Encryption Key:
- Insert the Original Encryption Key into the USB port
(or floppy disk drive, if you used a floppy disk instead of
a key).
- From within the ContactManager skillset, click the
ContactManager pull-down menu.
- Select Copy PortalsXpress Key.
- Click the Copy button to make a temporary copy of the
original key.
- Replace the Original Encryption key with the new USB
key or floppy disk (i.e., the media to which you want to
store a copy of the original key).
- Click the Paste button. A copy of the Original
Encryption Key will be made to the USB key or floppy
disk.
- Repeat steps 1-5 for each copy of the Original
Encryption Key you need to make.
