Using Messenger - Message Notification Preferences

The Message Notification Preferences can be established in the Settings selection of the pull-down Messenger menu.

Play Sound
Click in the Play Sound checkbox if you would like to be notified of a new message with a New Message Notification sound.

Tray Icon
Click in the Tray Icon checkbox if you would like to be notified of a new message with a flashing PortalsXpress tray icon. After installing Messenger, the program displays a PortalsXpress tray icon. If you make this selection, the PortalsXpress tray icon will flash when you have a new message. It is a handy visual cue and you can simply double-click on the flashing icon to open the Messenger window to view your message.

Pop-up Messenger Window
Click in the Pop-up Messenger Window checkbox if you would like the Messenger window to automatically pop-up on your screen when you receive a new message. If you do not select this preference, simply double-click on the PortalsXpress tray icon to open to Messenger window in order to view new messages.

If you have selected the Pop-Up Messenger Window setting above, you can set a preference for a length of time from 0 to 5 seconds for your keyboard to be disabled.
