Using Messenger - Manage Folders By choosing the Manage Folders selection on the Messenger
pull-down menu, the program allows you to organize or manage
the folders that are used by Messenger. By clicking on the
respective button, you can add a new folder, delete an
existing folder, forward a folder containing multiple
messages to someone (export folder feature), or import a
folder containing multiple messages.
At the common Windows open file dialog, set the path in the "Save In" field to your preferred location for the destination of this .imx file. Time Saver Tip! Let's look at a possible use case scenario to get a feel for this. We will assume that you have received numerous instant messages or e-mails about a new project called Secret Project. You have saved all of the messages into a folder named "Secret". Let's further assume that a co-worker now needs to review all of the correspondence that you received on Secret Project. You could send your co-worker a PortalsXpress message or e-mail and attach each individual piece of correspondence about Secret Project as a separate attachment but that would be rather tedious and time consuming. Definitely not much fun either. A better choice would be to use the Export File feature and let PortalsXpress Messenger manage your files. To do so, click to select the "Secret" folder and click the Export Folder button to export it. Let's also assume that you saved the secretproject.imx file to your Desktop. Now, when you send that message or e-mail to your co-worker, simply include the secretproject.imx that you saved to your Desktop as an attachment and all the Secret Project correspondence has been sent. Your co-worker can now use the Import File feature of Manage Folders to let PortalsXpress manage his or her folders. Import a File This feature is to be used only after another PortalsXpress member has used the Manage Folders Export Folder feature to send a folder of messages to you. Review the Time Saver Tip! Use case scenario above for an explanation. To import a file with a .imx extension (a PortalsXpress Messenger eXport file) into a selected folder:
